Redis, the real-time data platform, has announced the general availability of Google Cloud Spanner support for Redis Data Integration (RDI) as a self-managed deployment, in addition to Redis Cloud on GCP deployments. This new capability strengthens the Redis and Google Cloud partnership by helping joint customers improve performance, reduce infrastructure costs, and accelerate innovation.

Google Cloud Spanner is a fully managed, distributed relational database that delivers strong consistency across regions with horizontal scalability. It's become a cornerstone of global cloud architectures for retailers, financial institutions, and other enterprises requiring high reliability and availability.

Redis Data Integration allows Redis to stay continuously synchronized with enterprise data sources, enabling Redis to serve as a real-time, in-memory cache that's always current. By connecting Redis with Spanner, customers can offload reads to Redis, making sure sub-millisecond response times while reducing the cost of reads from Spanner.

“Enterprises building modern apps on Google Cloud need the best of both worlds: The reliability of Spanner and the performance of Redis,” said Spencer Tuttle, Chief Revenue Officer at Redis. “With Redis Data Integration for Spanner, customers can achieve speed at scale, reduce their total cost of ownership, and accelerate time to market. This milestone underscores our commitment to partnering with Google Cloud to make our customers successful.”

The announcement follows strong demand from enterprise customers who sought a production-ready solution to pair Redis with Spanner.

“Google Cloud Spanner continues to be a preferred choice for enterprises building mission-critical apps,” said Rayn Veerubhotla, Managing Director, Partner Engineering at Google Cloud. “By integrating Redis Data Integration with Spanner, customers can unlock new levels of performance and cost efficiency, while benefiting from the joint innovation of Redis and Google Cloud.”

With Spanner support now generally available in Redis Data Integration, enterprises can modernize their cloud architectures with a solution that's cost-efficient, globally scalable, and designed for low latency, even under the most demanding workloads.
